On October 7, 2017, the Friends of the Divine Mercy celebrated its 25th Anniversary. The Community chose to celebrate this milestone with a tribute to the priests to thank and honor them for their dedication to the mission of Christ.
PADRE was held at Pasig Sports Complex, Pasig City. Thirty-six (36) priests came and graced the event. The Holy Eucharist was co-celebrated by His Excellency Most Rev. Deogracias Iñiguez, Jr., D.D. and His Excellency Most Rev. Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr., D.D.
The honorees received gifts from the Community and were serenaded by fellow priests led by our very own Rev. Fr. Ricardo Torrefiel. Also present was TV personality Michael Angelo to add more fun and entertainment.
After the tribute, the first FRIENDS CHORALE COMPETITION was held. It was participated by nine (9) choral groups from different parishes. The participants wowed the audience with their skillful rendition of their masterpieces and their version of the Friends of the Divine Mercy Community Song. The San Sebastian Chamber was declared the 2nd prize winner while the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima Grand Chorale took home the grand prize.
